Site Visit Grant
UK Education Abroad maintains a fund to encourage and support UK faculty and staff members who are already abroad to conduct short site visits to our established education abroad programs. Knowing that UK faculty and staff members often travel internationally for conferences, research, etc., the goal of this grant fund is to cover any additional expenses associated with conducting the site visit as an add-on to the faculty or staff member’s pre-arranged travel (i.e. housing, meals, local transportation).
What is a site visit?
A typical site visit is organized by UK EA and the on-site staff of the program being visited, and is usually limited to one or two days. Site visits generally include activities such as touring the partner campus and facilities, meeting with on-site faculty and staff, observing classes, visiting internship sites, seeing student housing, meeting with students, etc.
Who is eligible to apply, and how much is the grant?
Any UK faculty or staff member is welcome to conduct a site visit to established education abroad programs. Individuals may apply for successive site visit grants. UK faculty and staff members will be reimbursed up to $200 per site visit. Standard UK financial reimbursements policies and procedures apply, and grant recipients must provide original receipts for reimbursement.
What is required of grant recipients?
Grant recipients are asked to provide feedback by completing a site visit report, the template for which will be provided prior to the site visit. The UK EA office staff reviews this report as part of our mission to continually assess and improve programming. Unless permitted, feedback will not be shared directly with the host partner or on-site staff.
