UK statistics professor selected to work with Addis Ababa University

LEXINGTON, Ky. (March 29, 2023) —  Solomon Harrar, a professor in the Dr. Bing Zhang Department of Statistics in the University of Kentucky College of Arts and Sciences, has been awarded a fellowship by the Carnegie African Diaspora Fellowship Program (CADFP) to travel to Ethiopia to work with Addis Ababa University (AAU) on teaching, mentoring and research collaboration for Ph.D.

Charitable gift honors late ag econ professor, promotes international agriculture awareness

Late University of Kentucky agricultural economics professor Russell Brannon was a leader in his field. He spent his career internationalizing teaching, research and extension. When he passed, his wife Janice knew the best way to memorialize him would be to make sure he remained an influential force in the lives of UK students through a charitable gift.

LEXINGTON, Ky. (Jan. 25, 2023) — Researchers at the University of Kentucky and Hebrew University in Jerusalem are partnering to study the complexity of the human brain. Specifically, researchers will test whether new, so-far unknown proteins exist in the brain. Labs from the two institutions have obtained a joint grant from the National Science Foundation (NSF) and the United States-Israel Binational Science Foundation (BSF) to study new aspects of RNA biology.

Graduate Students Present Work at Global Conference on Sustainable Manufacturing

Avery Hartley, Dan Caudill, Gisele Guedes and Hamzah Zannoun presented projects they developed in their ME/MFS 599/699 Sustainable Manufacturing Projects course.  During the conference, the students learned about cutting-edge research and the biggest challenges facing the sustainable manufacturing field today.
