Jane Newland

Jane Newland joined the International Student & Scholar Services team in August 2023 as the International Program Coordinator. Her main role is to make students feel welcome on campus by hosting events, building community, and providing academic support related to maintaining immigration status. She is the primary advisor for the International Student Leadership Team (ISLT) and International Student Council (ISC), and she is currently in training to become a Designated School Official (DSO). Prior to her time at UK, Jane worked with international high school students before finding her passion for higher education at the University of New Hampshire.
Jane earned an M.A. in International Relations from the Institut Barcelona d’Estudis Internacionals in Barcelona, Spain. She also holds a B.A. in Spanish with a minor in Sociology from The Ohio State University. In her free time, Jane enjoys walking her dogs, visiting friends and family, and exploring all that Lexington has to offer.
