Concurrent Enrollment /Distance Learning

An F-1 student may be enrolled in two different SEVIS approved schools at one time as long as the combined enrollment amounts to a full time course of study and the enrollment has been approved by the University of Kentucky International Center.

You may enroll at another academic institution for an unlimited number of credit hours during break periods, as long as it is not your first or final semester.

Online courses

During fall and spring (and summer when it is the final term to complete the degree), F-1 students enrolled in classes for credit or classroom hours may have no more than the equivalent of one class or three credits per session, term, semester, trimester, or quarter count toward the full course of study requirement.  However, if the course requires the student's physical attendance for classes, examination, or other purposes integral to completion of the course, it will be considered hybrid and does not count towards the online/distance limit.

If the F-1 student's course of study is in a language study program, no on-line or distance education classes may be considered to count toward a student's full course of study requirement.
