What is a Major Advising Page?

Major Advising Pages (MAP) feature education abroad programs that your department thinks are most appropriate for this discipline. Participating in a program featured on this MAP will allow you to complete coursework for your major/minor that has already been approved to transfer.

How do I use this MAP?

Use this MAP to identify programs of interest to you that offer coursework that might fulfill some of your degree requirements or compliment your studies at UK.

Universidad del Norte (ISA)

The Universidad del Norte is one of the top universities in Colombia and the Caribbean region. All engineering programs are accredited by the ABET. At Universidad del Norte, you'll have the opportunity to take classes in English with local university students, as well as Spanish coursework with native Spanish speakers. The university is located in Barranquilla, Colombia, the largest city and second largest port in the country's Caribbean region. The city is also home to one of the most important folk and cultural festivals of Colombia, the Carnival of Barranquilla.

Paris is an ideal destination for engineering majors, a city where many scientists and mathematicians have made significant contributions to the field. As a student at the CEA Paris Study Center, you can take Calculus III, and additional Engineering electives.

Study Center in Prague - Summer (CEA)

It’s your choice: take 1 Engineering course, 2 Engineering courses, or 1 Engineering course and 1 elective course from the social sciences or humanities. The CEA Study Center Prague offers Calculus III - a great summer program option for upcoming sophomore year Engineering students.

Exchange

Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (Engineering)

Karlsruhe, Germany

This is a rare opportunity for engineering majors to combine research and study on an exchange experience. From January to March students can conduct research with a Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT) faculty member and then spend April to July taking classes. Students taking Mechanical Engineering courses at KIT can take a bypass exam after their return to UK to receive full credit.

Technical University Berlin

Berlin, Germany

TU Berlin is also a member of the TU 9 Consortium of German Institutes of Technology, a group of nine traditional German universities with an excellent reputation in the fields of engineering, technology and natural sciences. The main campus is centrally located in the western part of Berlin and is well-placed for anyone interested in the capital‘s rich cultural life, offering concerts, exhibitions, sports events and the infamous „Kneipen“. On campus, students have a wide range of opportunities for leisure-time and recreational activities, with numerous societies, initiatives and several cafes. TUB's sports program ranges from Aikido to indoor climbing. Take all your classes in English. No German language requirement.
