Faculty-Directed

This research-based, eight week program offers students the opportunity to design and conduct their own social or environmental science research project under the supervision of knowledgeable and experienced local advisors. This preparation entails in-depth learning about the diverse environments of Southern Mexico and the rich and heterogeneous cultures of Oaxaca’s distinct regions. Through field visits, guest lectures and classroom activities, students will learn about the historical and contemporary dimensions of the relationship between the peoples of Oaxaca, the land and resources, and a global political economy. The program introduces and engages students in the use of different research methods and design, as well as offers opportunities for collaboration in local projects.

The origin of this Mediterranean city goes back more than 2,500 years and is crucial to the history of Spain and Catalonia - ruled by Carthaginians, Romans, Visigoths, Moors, and Franks until it finally became part of the Spanish empire in the 17th century. Courses include Globalization, Political Branding, International Protection of Human Rights, Contemporary Law, International Expansion, Comparative Private Law, Law and Justice.

Prague rests along the banks of the Vltava River, and has been the political, cultural, and economic hot-spot of Central and Eastern Europe for over 1000 years. With over 1.2 million local inhabitants in the city proper and a constant flow of international travelers exploring the city, Prague is a bustling capital of global importance. Courses offered include: Capitalism vs Communism, Communism and Religion, Contemporary Politics in Central Europe, World War II and the New Europe.

The Global Remote Internship Program provides students with the unique opportunity to gain practical 21st century skills, industry, connections, and international business experience through project-based learning. Students will participate in either a group project, facilitated by a Professional Mentor, or an individual placement.
