How to Apply

Your UK EA Application

To apply to a program, you will visit the UK EA Portal (this is the same portal used to search for programs). After deciding which program you want to apply to:

  1. Click the blue "Apply Now" button (either in the top right corner of the program brochure, or floating at the bottom of your screen).
  2. Read the popup text very carefully for an explanation of our UK EA Application fee. (Note: Some applications don't have a fee)
  3. Click OK!

Once you start your application, you will need to complete your profile and all application pieces.

Deadlines

Program Deadlines

You need to have completed your program application by the deadline found in your Terra Dotta online application. Question: Does the application state the deadline or is it just the program page?

If you're applying for a partner or consortia program, you need to have both your UK Education Abroad application and the provider application completed by this date. Comment: Not sure if this is technically true in all cases. Is it better that we say this even if it is not true?

Scholarship Deadlines

Both your scholarship application and your program application must be complete by 11:59pm on this date.

Winter & Spring Programs
  • October 1
Summer Programs
  • February 1
Fall Programs

Withdrawal Deadlines

If you plan to withdraw from your education abroad program, you need to do this before the deposit date. If you do it after the deposit date, you may be responsible for additional fees.

UK Faculty-Directed Programs

  • Withdrawal instructions and associated fees can be found on the program budget page
  • UK EA application fee and administrative fee are non-refundable and EAP 599 tuition reimbursement will be based on date of withdrawal

UK Exchanges & UK Consortia Programs

  • Deadlines are set on a case-by-case basis, as are withdrawal penalties. Depending on date of withdrawal, you may not receive a refund for certain fees, such as housing deposits made to host university.
  • UK EA application fee and administrative fee are non-refundable and EAP 599 tuition reimbursement will be based on date of withdrawal

UK Partner & UK Consortia Programs

  • Deadline to withdraw will be set by the provider, and you need to contact them to manage you withdrawal and see if you are eligible for any reimbursement
  • UK EA application fee and administrative fee are non-refundable and EAP 599 tuition reimbursement will be based on date of withdrawal

It is your responsibility to notify UK EA in writing if you are withdrawing

UK Partner or UK Consortia Applicants

If you are applying for a UK Partner or UK Consortia program, you're going to complete TWO applications, in TWO separate systems.

UK Education Abroad Application

You'll apply for your program through UK EA using your UK EA Portal. This application will make sure our office knows where you're going, what you'll be doing, and how long you'll be gone. We'll communicate all UK related requirements, concerns and opportunities to you through this application system or Canvas.

UK Partner or UK Consortia Application

This application is required so that the program provider knows who you are and in which program you want to participate. This application often has an "advisor approval" requirement. If you're asked to give an advisor's contact's details, you should give the details of your Education Abroad Advisor. This application may include different fees, withdrawal policies and deposit details. It is your responsibility to know this information and act accordingly.

You are not approved to participate in a program until your UK Education Abroad application is completed and approved by a UK EA Advisor.
