Community Partner Global Impact Award
This award seeks to recognize organizations active in Kentucky that show exceptional commitment to promoting global awareness and cultural diversity in the Commonwealth, and have positive impact on the global engagement efforts of the University of Kentucky, our students, faculty, and staff. This may include charitable organizations and NGOs, public or private corporations, as well as local and state government agencies. The Community Partner Global Impact Award is also open to individuals who show exceptional commitment to promoting global awareness and cultural diversity in the Commonwealth, and have positive impact on the global engagement efforts of the University of Kentucky, our students, faculty, and staff.
Criteria:
Open to organizations or individuals active in Kentucky and actively partnering with the University of Kentucky, but are not directly affiliated with the University of Kentucky, with demonstrated records of excellence in one or several of the following areas while at UK:
- Promoting and facilitating interactions with UK students and diverse countries, cultures and peoples, either in local communities or abroad
- Fostering a welcoming and inclusive environment to support and assist international students and scholars during their residency in the community
- Offering globally-focused internships and other service-learning opportunities to UK students
- Facilitating interactions between UK students, faculty, and staff with culturally diverse populations in our area, such as immigrant and refugee communities
- Providing exceptional opportunities for UK students, faculty, and staff to engage in education abroad activities, internships, service-learning, capacity building, and other development work around the world
- Highlighting global issues and cultural diversity in programming for UK students, faculty, and staff
Nomination Process:

Complete online Nomination Application.
(required documents may be uploaded through the form). - Submit narrative describing the nominee’s qualities, achievements and work (describe how these reflect the award criteria – up to three pages).
- Upload nominee’s resumé/CV (for individuals).
- Self-nominators, please submit one letter of support from an additional referee.
Notes:
- Self-nominations are accepted.
- Nominators must be affiliated with the University of Kentucky (faculty, staff, or students).
- Nominators cannot nominate a single candidate for multiple UKIC Awards in the same year.
