Confucius Institute Offers Summer Camp for K-12 Students

Wednesday, April 27, 2016

Students are invited to join the University of Kentucky Confucius Institute (UKCI) for its 2016 Language and Culture Summer Camp from June 27 to July 8.

This two-week program provides opportunities for K-12 students to meet new friends, learn Chinese language, craft Chinese art, and experience Chinese culture and tradition.

A variety of interactive, fun, educational activities will be provided by UKCI’s professional camp teachers. Some of the activities include Chinese painting and calligraphy, Chinese hacky sack, making and eating Chinese cuisine, crafting Chinese lanterns, playing Chinese instruments and other Chinese traditional experiences such as dance, a tea ceremony and tai chi.

Camps are offered at different levels for grades K-fifth, sixth-eighth and ninth-12th. See the attached flyer for a detailed schedule.

Deadline for early registration to the UKCI 2016 Language and Culture Summer Camp is April 29, 2016. An online application can be found here: www.uky.edu/international/UKCI/K-12_Education/Summer_Camp.
