The University of Kentucky Confucius Institute (UKCI) will usher in the Chinese ink painting and calligraphy exhibition Ink Elegance during Gallery Hop at 5:30 p.m. on Friday, March 17 at the Carnegie Center in Lexington, Ky. The exhibition will continue through May 10, 2017.
Dive into traditional Chinese culture and become a part of a beautiful story while experiencing music played on traditional Chinese musical instruments at the Osmanthus Fragrance Rain Show. Hosted by the University of Kentucky Confucius Institute (UKCI), the show will take place at 7 p.m., on Friday, April 7 at the Singletary Center for the Arts.

(Jan. 9, 2015) — The University of Kentucky Confucius Institute and the Institute for Rural Journalism and Community Issues at the UK College of Communication and Information, along with the Community Edition of the XinMin Evening News, the largest evening newspaper in Shanghai, hosted the second Sino-U.S. Community Media Seminar Friday, Jan. 9, at the UK Boone Center. The seminar was preceded by a visit to the Lexington Herald-Leader and the Danville Advocate-Messenger on Thursday.

The Late Night Film Series and The Department of Modern and Classical Languages have teamed up to present to students, faculty, and families our first Chinese Film Series. This series focuses on a variety of films that reflect contemporary Chinese culture. It is the intention of this series to give a better understanding of how China came to be today. By showing both films and documentaries, we hope to present multiple perspectives about China. The films are screened on Thursdays at 7pm at Worsham Theater in the Student Center. Free popcorn will be available at every screening!
