Wednesday, April 24, 2019 | By Andrea Gils

The Sri Lankan students at the University of Kentucky along with the UK International Center will host an event tonight to show solidarity to the victims of the terrorist attacks that took place in Sri Lanka on April 21 (also known as Easter Sunday).

The attacks in Sri Lanka have taken over 300 lives and injured more than 500 people. The Sri Lankan students of all faiths and background studying at UK, with the support of UK administration, decided to host an event where the community can join in solidarity and light a candle for Sri Lanka, in memory of the lives lost and the people affected by the tragedy.

The event will take place April 24 from 8:30- 9 p.m. on the courtyard of the Jacobs Science Building (425 Hugulet Dr.). Free parking is available at the UK Parking Structure #2, also known as Rose St. garage (301 Hilltop Avenue).
