Important Confucius Institute Update
As you are probably aware, we are currently living in unprecedented times. The coronavirus (COVID-19) has and continues to be a public health challenge, one that changes shape and direction by the day, and sometimes by the hour. The trajectory of this virus will continue to climb for some time.
Based on the advice of health experts, guidance from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, and directives from Governor Andy Beshear, the University of Kentucky Confucius Institute has decided to suspend any and all of its events and programming for the remaining 2020 Spring semester.
This includes, but isn’t limited to, the following:
- 2020 Spring Camp
- 2020 K-12 Speech Contest
- Any HSK exams scheduled in the spring semester
- A Bite of China events
- UKCI Cinema Series events
- Social Studies PD Series
This was not an easy decision, but we believe it is in the best interest of everyone during this difficult time.
Our community courses have moved online for the remainder of the semester. For specific questions or concerns about our community courses, please contact Xiaowen Liu at email@example.com.
Our top priority has been, and will continue to be, your health, safety, and well-being as well as the health, safety and well-being of our staff.
However, we are committed to UK’s internationalization efforts, so please follow us online (international.uky.edu/ukci) and on social media (@UKConfucius on Instagram, Facebook and Twitter) for the latest news and information as our programs will return when it is safe to do.
As always, please consult UK’s special website for the latest information about UK’s response to this health challenge: https://www.uky.edu/coronavirus/.
Again, thank you for your patience and understanding during this time, and please do not hesitate to contact us should you have any questions or concerns.
