Graduate Students Present Work at Global Conference on Sustainable Manufacturing

Avery Hartley, Dan Caudill, Gisele Guedes and Hamzah Zannoun presented projects they developed in their ME/MFS 599/699 Sustainable Manufacturing Projects course.  During the conference, the students learned about cutting-edge research and the biggest challenges facing the sustainable manufacturing field today. 

Kentucky Innovative Scholarship offers hope to displaced students

LEXINGTON, Ky. (Nov. 28, 2022) — The University of Kentucky is proud to be participating in a new program to support displaced students in Kentucky. The Council on Postsecondary Education (CPE) and the Kentucky Higher Education Assistance Authority (KHEAA) have launched the Kentucky Innovative Scholarship, which offers scholarships to displaced students pursuing an undergraduate degree in Kentucky.

Shoulder to Shoulder Global program awarded USAID grant

LEXINGTON, Ky. (Nov. 14, 2022) — The University of Kentucky’s Shoulder to Shoulder Global (STSG) program and Department of Pediatrics have been awarded a grant of $421,000 from the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) to expand the nonprofit collaborative Centro de Salud Hombro a Hombro health center (CSHH) as an educational and empowerment site in Santo Domingo, Ecuador.

Shoulder to Shoulder Global Celebrates 15 Years of Making a Difference

(Oct. 14, 2022) — In 2002, six University of Kentucky medical residents traveled to Ecuador for a medical brigade with their professor, Tom Young, M.D. Upon their return, the small group shared their experiences with their peers. A few years later, that group of six had turned into 30, and Shoulder to Shoulder Global was born.

Through Fulbright Scholar Program, UK geology professor unravels the erosion of the Appalachians — from Ireland

(Sept. 15, 2022)  Dave Moecher, Ph.D., a professor in the University of Kentucky Department of Earth and Environmental Sciences, recently returned from Ireland, where he spent five months studying the erosion of the Appalachian Mountains and exploring the unique culture and history of the Emerald Isle.

International Center Staff Member Receives NAFSA Rising Star Young Leader Award
