UK Asian and Asian-American Employee Affinity Group celebrates AAPI Heritage Month

LEXINGTON, Ky. (May 29 2024) — The Asian and Asian-American Employee Affinity Group (AAA EAG) at the University of Kentucky was established by the Office for Institutional Diversity at UK to promote a culture of inclusion and belonging through professional development and mutual understanding. Recently the group celebrated AAPI Heritage Month with an event for employees at the university.

Markey enters formal partnership with cancer center in Ukraine

LEXINGTON, Ky. (May 22, 2024) — The University of Kentucky Markey Cancer Center has formed an international partnership with the Kyiv Regional Oncology Dispensary (KROD) based in Kyiv, Ukraine. The two institutions will engage in mutually beneficial activities focused on cancer prevention and treatment, research collaboration and personnel exchanges for training and education.  

Step-Up program connects UK student mentors with local immigrants

LEXINGTON, Ky. (May 8, 2024) — Started in Fall 2023 by Francis Musoni, Ph.D., associate professor of history and director of the International Studies program in the University of Kentucky College of Arts and Sciences, Step-Up is an innovative service-learning program designed to support high school students from immigrant and refugee families to successfully integrate into the U.S.
