LEXINGTON, Ky. (Dec. 8, 2025) —As a way of giving back to the campus community this holiday season, the UK International Center recently raised donations for the University of Kentucky’s Big Blue Pantry.

“Big Blue Pantry is a wonderful resource on campus,” said Sue Roberts, associate provost for internationalization. “Our staff here in the UK International Center stepped up in a big way to help contribute to those in need in our campus community. We’re so proud to be able to give in a meaningful way during the holidays.”

Since opening its doors in 2014, the Big Blue Pantry has served as a beacon for students experiencing food insecurity, offering everything from canned goods and fresh produce to hygiene essentials.

In the midst of planning holiday celebrations, staff in UKIC expressed a desire to give back this year. According to Roberts, it’s perfectly in line with how the unit functions across campus.

“We serve and support so many across our campus, collaborating with the colleges, as well as so many administrative units across campus,” she said. “I think this makes us acutely aware of how we can best support our entire campus community, and this initiative is working toward that ideal. We look forward to continuing this new tradition in the years to come.”
