The University of Kentucky Confucius Institute is excited to announce the sixth annual Moon Festival Artwork and Essay Competition. This contest encourages young people to explore their creativity and the festival's themes of harvest and the changing of the seasons through artwork and writing. In collaboration with the Kentucky Chinese American Association’s Moon Festival Celebration this competition is open to all K-12 students. The artwork will be displayed at the KYCAA’s Moon Festival on September 10, 2016. An Awards Ceremony will also take place at the Festival. The University of Kentucky Confucius Institute (UKCI) wants to get to know your China — the people, places and cultural aspects dear to you as part of its 2016 "China in My Lens" photo contest. UK students, faculty and staff as well as local high school students who have visited China are encouraged to enter.

The UK Confucius Institute (UKCI) hosted its fifth annual UKCI High School China Summer Trip, where 26 Kentucky high school students explored the Chinese culture in the cities of Beijing, Shanghai, and Xi’an, China during the summer.

In celebration of the work being done by Confucius Institutes across the globe, the University of Kentucky Confucius Institute (UKCI) will present Confucius Institute Day Sept. 24, the third presentation of this annual UKCI event. This showcase of arts, games, workshops and delicious food celebrating China will be presented from 11 a.m.-6 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 24, at the Robert F. Stephens Courthouse Plaza. All events are free and open to the public.

Join the University of Kentucky Confucius Institute (UKCI) and College of Agriculture, Food and Environment in welcoming Dr. Scott Rozelle as the first speaker in the 2017 Spring Distinguished Scholars Series. His lecture entitled The Inequality of Human Capital Among China’s Children and China’s Future Growth and Stability and discussion will take place at the Auditorium in the William T. Young Library on Tuesday, March 7, 3:00p.m.

The University of Kentucky Confucius Institute recently inaugurated a new Confucius Classroom at Transylvania University in Lexington Ky., on Jan. 30, 2017. The opening of the classroom makes Transylvania the second regional college to partner with UK Confucius Institute, with Asbury College being the first.
