Caitlin Johnson is the Sponsored Student & Scholar Coordinator at the University of Kentucky’s International Center. She provides F-1/J-1 student advising for students in the following areas: Sponsored students, Center for English as a Second Language (CESL), College of Medicine, Martin School, J-1 Student Non-Degrees. She also oversees the free adult ESL classes for J-1 scholars and their J-2 dependents at UK. Prior to moving into the Sponsored Student & Scholar Coordinator position, Caitlin served as the Immigration Case Coordinator for the ISSS office. She has so far enjoyed her time in the field of international education as a member of NAFSA, or the Association of International Educators. Through NAFSA, she has been recognized for her work as a recipient of the inaugural NAFSA RISE Fellowship in 2020-2021, the 2021 NAFSA Region VI Dorothy Brickman Award for Outstanding New Professional, and the 2022 NAFSA Rising Star Young Leader Award. Caitlin previously served on the 2021-2022 Diversity Abroad Task Force for Career Advancement & Belonging and currently serves on the NAFSA Region VI Leadership Team as the Communications Coordinator for 2022-2023. 

Caitlin received an MS in Higher Education along with a Graduate Certificate in International Education from the University of Kentucky, and a BA in History and Spanish from Centre College.
