Craig Borie is the Program Manager for Shoulder to Shoulder Global (STSG), the Office of Global Health Initiatives and the Director of Peace Corps Prep at the University of Kentucky. He has been a youth mentor with Big Brothers Big Sisters and similar programs for thirty years and has traveled to more than sixty countries. He is a graduate of Colorado State University and the University of Kentucky, alumni of Semester at Sea and served as a Peace Corps volunteer in Nicaragua. After Peace Corps, Craig became Senior Manager of International Contracts at Sun Microsystems, Enterprise Services. Later, after taking part in home stays in the Middle East, Africa and the Americas, he worked with the USAID and Georgetown University Scholarships for Education and Economic Development (SEED) program. Craig is a board member of the Kentucky Peace Corps association and served as a member of Kentucky Ecuador Partners and the mayor’s Civic Engagement Committee at Global Lex. He currently volunteers locally with former refugees from Burundi and Congo, is the STSG Student Association advisor and is a co-author in the book, “Offenders No More, An Interdisciplinary Restorative Justice Dialogue”. Craig has a master’s degree in Community and Leadership Development from UK’s College of Agriculture and wants to talk with you about the importance of serving others both locally and globally.
