Education Abroad & Exchanges
Katherine Mary "Kate" Meyer has held many roles in international education for over a decade. Here at UKEA, Kate serves as the primary contact for departmental and faculty partners interested in Faculty-Directed programming. Her main focus includes support in developing and implementing these programs and ensuring compliance and best practices. This role also includes overseeing the Statement of Intent (SOI) process and creating new support and development opportunities for program directors as they prepare to direct their programs abroad. Before coming to UK, Kate completed a doctorate in 2023 while researching pricing models and inclusion connections for study abroad programs and has been honored with multiple awards for her advocacy work in financial aid literacy, student veterans, and inclusion efforts related to study abroad. Her background as a study abroad student from a low-socioeconomic, rural, and first-generation background shapes her commitment to inclusive education. Kate spends her free time traveling as much as possible and hopes to one day check off that last elusive continent of Antarctica on her "Been there List."
