The Course Equivalency Management System (CEMS) helps University of Kentucky students understand how education abroad (EA) course credits on Partner, Exchange, and Direct programs may transfer back to UK for equivalent credit.

How to get started

Search

Search the database below to find EA courses that have confirmed UK equivalent credit. Filter courses by EA program, UK equivalent credits, UK Core, and more to help identify courses that may fit your goals.

Request

If an EA course is not listed in the database below, you can submit a Course Equivalency Request Form (CERF) to request review for UK equivalent credit.

Plan

Create a Course Cart for the courses you plan to take abroad and share your planned EA schedule with your Academic Advisor for feedback on how and if the courses apply to your UK degree plan.

For step-by-step instructions to complete the education abroad course equivalency process, visit MyEA HERE.

*Must be logged into the Course Equivalency Management System (CEMS) to request and plan

Important

Courses listed in the database represent confirmed equivalencies but do not guarantee that a course will be offered during a specific term abroad. Students should review their partner, exchange, or direct program website to confirm course availability.

Academic Advisors

Review student Course Carts and provide feedback on if and how EA courses apply to the student's UK degree plan.

Director of Undergraduate Studies

Directors of Undergraduate Study, or designated Approving Officials, will use CEMS to:

  • Review Course Equivalency Requests
  • Assign UK equivalent credit (if applicable) and determine how long the equivalency will be valid for (1, 3, or 5 years).

Once an ea course is reviewed and equated by the Director of Undergraduate Studies, the course will appear in the Course Equivalency database.
