EAP 599: Global Learning Experience is a one credit-hour, asynchronous, reflection-based course that keeps you enrolled full-time at UK, adjusts your UK tuition cost to one credit-hour, and allows you access to financial aid and scholarships while you are abroad. UK EA will enroll you in EAP 599 for the term corresponding to your program abroad.
Undergraduate Students
- All undergraduate students participating in fall, spring, winter, or summer education abroad programs are required to be enrolled in EAP 599: Global Learning Experience during the term of their program abroad.
Graduate Students
- Enrollment in EAP 599 is optional for graduate students; however, there may be a tuition benefit associated with enrolling in and participating in the course. Graduate students should consult their Education Abroad Advisor to discuss whether enrolling in EAP 599 is advantageous.
Withdrawal from EAP 599
- If you withdraw from EAP 599 but successfully complete your program abroad, you will be required to re-enroll in the course to receive academic credit from your program. Failure to remain enrolled in EAP 599 may also affect financial aid, scholarships, and academic standing at UK.
Returning Early from an Education Abroad Program
- If you return early from a UK EA program and are unable to complete the program coursework, you will be unenrolled from EAP 599 and may owe back any financial aid or scholarships used to fund your program. If you are able to complete the program coursework, you will remain enrolled in EAP 599 until the end of your program term.
