EAP 599: Global Learning Experience
EAP 599 is a one credit-hour, asynchronous, reflection-based course that keeps students enrolled full-time at UK, adjusts the program's UK tuition cost to one credit-hour, and allows students access to financial aid and scholarships while abroad. UK EA will enroll students in EAP 599 for the term corresponding to their program abroad. It is the student's responsibility to remove any holds from their UK student account that would prevent EAP 599 enrollment.
Undergraduate Students
- All undergraduate students participating in fall, spring, winter, or summer education abroad programs are required to be enrolled in EAP 599: Global Learning Experience during the term of their program abroad.
Graduate Students
- Enrollment in EAP 599 is optional for graduate students; however, there may be a tuition benefit associated with enrolling in and participating in the course. Graduate students should consult their Education Abroad Advisor to discuss whether enrolling in EAP 599 is advantageous.
Withdrawal from EAP 599
If a student withdraws from EAP 599 but successfully completes a program abroad, they will be required to re-enroll in the course to receive academic credit for the program. Failure to remain enrolled in EAP 599, when required, will prohibit students from earning academic credit for their program participation. Failure to remain enrolled in EAP 599 may also affect the credit financial aid, scholarships, and academic standing at UK.
Returning Early from an Education Abroad Program
If a student returns early from a UK EA program and is unable to complete the program coursework, they will be unenrolled from EAP 599 and may owe back any financial aid or scholarships used to fund the program. If a student is able to complete the program coursework, they will remain enrolled in EAP 599 until the end of the program term.
