Overview

Credit enrollment requirements vary by program term. Students on semester or academic year programs must maintain full-time enrollment, while summer and winter programs have no credit minimum unless otherwise required.

Semester and Academic Year

Students studying abroad in fall or spring semester programs are required to maintain full-time enrollment and transfer in a full credit load at the conclusion of the program. Undergraduate students must enroll in the equivalent of at least 12 U.S. credits at the program's host institution, but some host institutions may require a higher enrollment amount.

Summer and Winter

There is no credit minimum for students on summer or winter programs unless dictated by the student's degree plan or scholarship requirements.

Online Courses Not on Program

Students are eligible to take online courses while abroad; however, those courses are charged at a different tuition rate and are not subject to the benefits of the EAP 599 tuition adjustment.

Failure to Complete Credits

Failure to complete the minimum number of credits required may result in the student being liable for the repayment of financial aid and scholarship funding and slowed degree completion.
