Partner Policies and UK EA Approval
- UK EA does not review or approve independent housing requests. Decisions about independent housing are made solely by the affiliated partner program.

If the affiliated partner facilitating a program allows students to opt out of program housing, students must follow the partner’s policies and procedures for requesting and arranging independent housing. Approval for independent housing, if available, is determined by the partner—not by UK EA. If the affiliated requires home university approval for independent housing requests, it will not be granted for any UK student.
Partner Program Responsibility

The affiliated partner facilitating the program is responsible for ensuring that all housing—whether program-arranged or approved independent housing—meets appropriate health, safety, and security standards for UK students participating in their programs.
Student Responsibility
- Students pursuing independent housing through the program provider, do so under the partner’s authority and policies. UK EA will not intervene in or support housing arrangements made outside of the approved program housing.
