Overview

UK Education Abroad programs are governed by U.S. Department of State Travel Advisories and Administrative Regulation 4:9. Students may participate in programs in Level 1 and Level 2 countries without additional review. Travel to Level 3 or Level 4 countries requires a mandatory review process and approval from the Associate Provost for Internationalization.

Level 1 & 2 Countries

Students are permitted to pursue approved UK EA programs in countries or regions under a Level 1 (Exercise Normal Precautions) or Level 2 (Exercise Increased Caution) advisory without additional review.

Level 3 & 4 Countries

Per UK's  international education travel policy in Administrative Regulation 4:9, undergraduate students, graduate and professional students, and GME residents wishing to travel to countries or regions under a Level 3 (Reconsider Travel) or Level 4 (Do Not Travel) Travel Advisory must complete a mandatory review process and receive approval from the Associate Provost for Internationalization. Depending on the nature of the intended program, the review process may include the preparation of appeal documentation and/or an in-person meeting with the International Health, Safety & Security (IHSS) Committee.
