Why are human brains so powerful? UK, Hebrew University partner to find out

LEXINGTON, Ky. (Jan. 25, 2023) — Researchers at the University of Kentucky and Hebrew University in Jerusalem are partnering to study the complexity of the human brain. Specifically, researchers will test whether new, so-far unknown proteins exist in the brain. Labs from the two institutions have obtained a joint grant from the National Science Foundation (NSF) and the United States-Israel Binational Science Foundation (BSF) to study new aspects of RNA biology.

Donovan Scholarship opens doors, expands artistic horizons

Graduate Students Present Work at Global Conference on Sustainable Manufacturing

Avery Hartley, Dan Caudill, Gisele Guedes and Hamzah Zannoun presented projects they developed in their ME/MFS 599/699 Sustainable Manufacturing Projects course.  During the conference, the students learned about cutting-edge research and the biggest challenges facing the sustainable manufacturing field today. 

Kentucky Innovative Scholarship offers hope to displaced students

LEXINGTON, Ky. (Nov. 28, 2022) — The University of Kentucky is proud to be participating in a new program to support displaced students in Kentucky. The Council on Postsecondary Education (CPE) and the Kentucky Higher Education Assistance Authority (KHEAA) have launched the Kentucky Innovative Scholarship, which offers scholarships to displaced students pursuing an undergraduate degree in Kentucky.

Shoulder to Shoulder Global program awarded USAID grant

LEXINGTON, Ky. (Nov. 14, 2022) — The University of Kentucky’s Shoulder to Shoulder Global (STSG) program and Department of Pediatrics have been awarded a grant of $421,000 from the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) to expand the nonprofit collaborative Centro de Salud Hombro a Hombro health center (CSHH) as an educational and empowerment site in Santo Domingo, Ecuador.
