Learning distilled: Education Abroad program connects UK students to key Kentucky industry

LEXINGTON, Ky. (Jan. 27, 2026) — How far would you go to better understand one of the key industries in Kentucky? Students in the University of Kentucky Education Abroad program “Interdisciplinary Projects in Distilling” travel across the Atlantic Ocean, to Edinburgh, Scotland in order to compare and contrast the historical, economic and social facets of the distilling industries in Scotland and Kentucky.

Overcoming adversity: UK grad finds home away from home

LEXINGTON, Ky. (Dec. 18, 2025) — Husna Ahmadi isn’t sure what she will feel walking across the stage of Rupp Arena to receive her University of Kentucky diploma. “I don’t know what to expect,” she said. “Maybe my whole journey here; the flights, the anxiety, the friends, the memories, all of it may just come rushing back.”

UK International Center raises donations for Big Blue Pantry

LEXINGTON, Ky. (Dec. 8, 2025) —As a way of giving back to the campus community this holiday season, the UK International Center recently raised donations for the University of Kentucky’s Big Blue Pantry.  “Big Blue Pantry is a wonderful resource on campus,” said Sue Roberts, associate provost for internationalization. “Our staff here in the UK International Center stepped up in a big way to help contribute to those in need in our campus community. We’re so proud to be able to give in a meaningful way during the holidays.”
