UK students can study abroad as early as the summer after their freshman year. Pre-Nursing majors can study abroad during spring or fall semesters to complete pre-nursing requirements. After you've been admitted to the BSN program, summer, winter, or embedded programs are ideal options. No two student journeys are the same, so it's important to talk to your Academic and Education Abroad Advisor about making education abroad a part of your experience at UK. Early planning freshman year will give you more flexibility in program and location choice. Use this Major Advising Page to kickstart your planning process and navigate conversations with your academic and education abroad advisors, as well as your support network and other campus contacts.

You can also complete a direct summer program after you begin the Nursing program for general elective credits, or to complete any remaining UK Core requirements.
