UK students can study abroad as early as the summer after their freshman year. Pre-Nursing majors can study abroad during spring or fall semesters to complete pre-nursing requirements. After you've been admitted to the BSN program, summer, winter, or embedded programs are ideal options. No two student journeys are the same, so it's important to talk to your Academic and Education Abroad Advisor about making education abroad a part of your experience at UK. Early planning freshman year will give you more flexibility in program and location choice. University of Nicosia (Global Semesters)
Spend a semester studying abroad aside the Mediterranean Sea in Nicosia, Cyprus while completing pre-nursing requirements such as UK Core (Arts & Creativity; Humanities; Global Dynamics), Microbiology, Nutrition, and more!
Summer in Scandinavia (DIS)
DIS offers a diverse range of health-related courses, spanning topics such as global health, public health, biomedicine, and health science. You can choose to study abroad with DIS in Copenhagen, Denmark, or Stockholm, Sweden for 3-9 weeks during the summer term. You may be able to fulfill a cognate requirement with a DIS summer course.
Universidad Catolica de Valencia (ISA)
During the Fall or Spring semester in Valencia, Spain, you'll have the opportunity to take classes at the Universidad Católica de Valencia (UCV). UCV is popular for students studying biology, chemistry, sports sciences, Spanish, and nursing.
Partner: Summer in Tanzania (KIIS)
Choose from a variety of pre-nursing courses while exploring public health issues typically facing the sub-Saharan region of Africa.
Direct & Exchange
Direct Enroll programs allow students from the University of Kentucky to enroll directly as non-degree seeking international students at partner institutions abroad.
An exchange program offers a unique chance to delve into a different culture and academic setting for a full semester or year, but only pay UK tuition.
