The Course Approval Database is the record of education abroad courses that have been evaluated for University of Kentucky credit. Students earning transfer credit for courses on Partner, Exchange, and Direct programs will use this system to search for pre-approved courses, request equivalencies for courses, and plan their course list for their ea program. Student
You will use Course Approval to:
- Search the database for courses already pre-approved for UK credit on UK EA partner, exchange, and direct programs.
- Request an equivalency for an EA course that is not yet pre-approved in the database.
- Create a course list for the classes you plan to take abroad and share your planned schedule with your Academic Advisor for feedback on how the courses apply to your UK degree audit.
Approving Official
Directors of Undergraduate Study, or designated Approving Officials, will use Course Approval to:
- Designate a UK equivalency (if applicable) for an education abroad course
- Determine how long the equivalency will be valid for (1, 3, or 5 years).
Once an ea course is reviewed and approved by an Approving Official, the course will appear in the Course Approval database.
Academic Advisor
Once a student has selected the courses they plan to take abroad, they will send their Course Schedule to their Academic Advisor for review. The Academic Advisor will then provide feedback on whether and how the courses apply to the student's UK degree plan.
