UK Contracts with New Assistance Organization to Support International Travel
LEXINGTON, Ky. (April 12, 2024) —The UK International Center and UK Risk Management are excited to announce a new partnership between the University and International SOS which will provide additional resources to support the health, safety, and security of members of the UK community traveling internationally.
“International SOS is a leader in the international assistance space,” said Director of Global Risk & Strategic Operations Jason Hope. “From pre-travel briefings, to security analysis, to help finding medical care and using UK’s existing international insurance, they offer a wide range of resources to keep travelers safe and healthy. We hope this partnership will be another important tool in supporting the important international work of the UK community.”
In addition to the assistance available from International SOS’ call center representatives, UK’s faculty, staff and student travelers will also have the opportunity to download a mobile app to access pre-departure security briefings, receive security alerts specific to their destination and more. The service will go live for UK’s travelers on April 15th.
Faculty and staff will receive detailed instructions about how to use International SOS’ services after completing the University’s international travel registration, while students on Education Abroad programs will be given information on the same services before they depart the US for their education abroad experience.
“We’re looking forward to leveraging this partnership to better take care of our people, regardless of where in the world they might be traveling,” said Hope.
