Welcome to the University of Kentucky!

Congratulations on your admission to UK! Now that you are officially a Wildcat, we need you to complete the next steps before arriving to campus.

Make sure to read the information below to prepare for your arrival in Lexington. You will need to complete all tasks before attending orientation to register for classes. Also, be sure to check out our full Pre-Departure Guide.

Undergraduate Steps to Becoming a Wildcat

New undergraduates should complete the steps below before arriving on campus.

Activate your LinkBlue Account and Multi-factor authentication (MFA) enrollment

Request Your I-20/DS-2019

Request your I-20/DS-2019 by logging into https://icat.uky.edu using your LinkBlue credentials and beginning the "New Student Information Checklist."

Please allow for 48-72 hours after receiving your acceptance letter from UK Admissions.

Note: Students enrolled in an online only program are not eligible for F-1 or J-1 visa status. Should my program ever require an in-person presence in the USA, I need to contact the ISSS office at isss@uky.edu to request a Form I-20 or DS-2019.

I also understand students must check with Distance Learning to confirm eligibility for online enrollment from outside the US (https://online.uky.edu/).

A Living Learning Program, or LLP, is a group of students with similar majors or interests who live in a specific residence hall. The International Village LLP connects international students with U.S. students to form a community that focuses on learning about the world from and with each other.

The only residence halls that remain open during university breaks are: Blazer Hall (International Village LLP), Boyd Hall, Smith Hall and Woodland Glen IV. Click here to apply for housing.
